Whiplash vs Ironman. The movie looks amazing, but what about the wicked?

How is whiplash even a threat to Ironman? I havent read the comics for someone plz enlighten me. Ironman Warmachine or simply unable to get off the number of lashes and shoot him. How the hell Iron Man can beat Indiana Jones with a level of whip?
